This is my 5th roof top box. This box has been discontinued but still widely available on the used market. There were only two downsides i found in using the atlantis 1800 and one of those is minor at best. It also retains thule s excellent power click system so you can secure it with only one hand and not over tighten.

The thule 688bxt atlantis 2100 roof top cargo box was a life saver for us on our summer vacation. Few roof boxes could sit comfortably atop a 100 000 range rover but thule s excellence xt could pull it off. I picked mine up for 250 use for 2 trips and garage kept. With three small children and all the stuff that must go along the cargo box s extra storage capacity was key. Any of the other boxes in thule s atlantis or boxster line would have overhung my windshield to varying extents. When i install it as far back as it will go while the rear hatch still opens fully the front of the box lines up fairly closely with the windshield roof line giving a decent look and reasonable aerodynamic performance. According to those who got this cargo box it is a very nice rooftop carrier that is great for families.

It s simply a great value for the price. First being on top of an s u v the cargo box can be hard for shorter folks to operate. The box is sleak and sturdy. The thule box s tent to get volume from width and height.

This is similar to the current thule model force xl. Of course this is not a design flaw of the box but is still going to be an issue for some. It boasts generous cargo space and convenient new features. This cargo box gets 5 stars.

It weighs about 60lbs giving it some additional strength but not so heavy that it is tough to manuver.
